Boiling Point
Writer/director/star 'Beat' Takeshi mixes deadpan comedy and extreme violence to typically audacious effect in this stunning movie. When Masaki, a gas station attendant and bit part baseball player incurs the wrath of the local yakuza, he heads to Okinawa to buy a gun so he can stand up for himself.
Whilst there, he is joined in his quest by a former gangster (Beat Takeshi), who has his own reason for getting back at the mob. Violence escalates until the mild-tempered Masaki takes an oil truck from his gas station and drives it straight into Yakuza headquarters. In their different ways 'Beat' Takeshi and Masaki come to the boil. The conclusion is explosive...
