“The 51st State” ist ein sehr „nettes Filmchen“, das leider mit Ausnahme des „Fantasy Film Festes“ in Deutschland nicht in die Kinos gekommen ist, sondern direkt in die Videotheken gekommen ist. Dies ist ein für die Qualität des Films unverdienter Werdegang, denn „The 51st State“ kann die Qualität einiger Kinoproduktionen locker toppen, wenn es der Film auch nicht ganz schafft, die hohe Qualität seiner offensichtlichen Vorbilder zu erreichen.
