Jackie Stewart - The Flying Scot
Sir Jackie Stewart is one of Britain's all time great sporting peronalities, winner of 3 Formula One World Championship and 27 Grand Prix. With his black cap and sideburns he became an unmistakeable icon of glorious era of glamour and speed.
Venturing far beyond the world of motor sport, "The Flying Scot" is above all a compelling human story and a comprehensive insight into the triumphs and tragedies of Jackie's eventful life. The film includes contributions from friends and colleagues, including Niki Lauda, Emerson Fittipaldi, Sean Connery, Murray Walker and Edsel Ford, as well as the last ever interview from the late, great, Ken Tyrrell, without whom Jackie's career might have taken a very different turn.
Produced by Jackie's youngest son Mark, the film is enriched with family photographs, home movies and scrapbooks kept by Lady Helen Stewart that document her husband's entire career.
'It is without doubt the best motor racing film I've seen since Roman Polanski took his cameras to Monaco in '71. You will laugh and cry when you watch this film... Above all, though, you will be enthralled." Peter Windsor, F1 Racing magazine.
"Jackie Stewart has always been one of my heroes so seeing this masterly film of his life and achievement gave me real pleasure" Murray Walker, F1 commentator.
Nominated for RTS Sports Documentary of the Year, 2002. A Mark Stewart Production.
