Alonzo King - Lines Ballet DVD

William Forsythe bezeichnete ihn als einen der wenigen wahren Meister des zeitgenössischen Balletts – Alonzo King. Mit seinen Choreographien, die er selbst als „Denkstrukturen“ bezeichnet, sorgt er weltweit für Furore. 1982 gründete er mit Alonzo King LINES Ballet sein eigenes modernes Ballettensemble und setzte neue Maßstäbe. Seine einzigartige künstlerische Vision vom Tanz und der Bewegung bestimmen den Alltag der Kompanie. Die vorliegende DVD enthält drei seiner Ballette aus den Jahren 2009 und 2011. Triangle of the Squinches (UA: April 2011) entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit dem legendären Musiker Mickey Hart und erforscht den inneren und äußeren Raum des Körpers. In Dust and Light (UA: April 2009) bringt Alonzo King die emotionale Intimität des Tanzes zum Vorschein.
