While Prime Minister PW Botha prevaricates over meeting Mandela in person, Mandela patiently seeks a meeting with Botha. The slow-brewing Project Mandela comes to fruition on 11 February 1990 when Mandela walks through the gates of Pollsmoor to freedom and into history.
