Am 21. Juli 1990 fand in Deutschland einer der denkwürdigsten und international bekanntesten Rockevents aller Zeiten statt: Das vom ehemaligen Pink Floyd Frontman Roger Waters Inszenierte "The Wall" Festival auf dem frisch zugänglichen Potsdamer Platz im Herzen von Berlin. Bereits acht Monate nach dem Fall des eisernen Vorhangs zelebrierten an dem symbolträchtigen Ort über 300.000 Zuschauer (und geschätzte 300 Millionen Menschen zuhause vor den Fernsehern) zusammen mit internationalen Stars wie Bryan Adams, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Cyndi Lauper, Sinead O'Conner und Mitgliedern von The Band die Neuaufführung des historischen Pink Floyd Album "The Wall".
