Decameron Gay DVD

With Italian poet and novelist Giovanni Boccaccio's (1313-1375) bawdy classic as his inspiration, director Lucas Kazan has created a beautifully realized, gay interpretation of two tales of the "Decameron" that manage to outdo the original in terms of eroticism. A stunning international cast and the Italian setting are thrilling, but it is Kazan's nimble capture of the spirit of the original that is the production's greatest strength. Kazan injects all of the scenes, whether action or plot-based, with fiery lust, betrayal, irony, and even comic seduction, all perfectly in tune with Boccaccio's works.

Ricky Martinez reads Boccaccio's classic in a secluded wood, and his voice narrates the scenes as they are introduced. The first tale is the First Novella of the Third Day. In it, Masetto, a poor (so much so that he can't afford a shirt, poor lad) handsome peasant sets out to find his fortune. Played by Eric Flower, whose body is nearly perfect, Masetto doesn't go far before he finds something to do, a three-way with studs Marco Sisto and Jean Franko. Marco is as tightly built as Eric, with a bit more hair on his chest, and Jean is smooth, buff, and hung like a horse. The two quickly decide that Eric is the perfect man, not because he is gorgeous and eager to please, but because he is a deaf mute, and he can't tell anyone about what they do together. Men -- they're all alike, right?

The scene is divided into two parts. In the first part, Eric sits on a chair and blows both uncut studs (it would have been wonderful to see more of Marco, but he is oddly marginalized), taking turns savoring their meat, but he pays special attention to Jean, and he slicks the stud's dick down with so much saliva that it glistens in the light. Of course, Leon doesn't, and he and Wilfried lock limbs in a 69 that has Wilfried tongue-fucking Leon while Leon blows Wilfried, and then Leon plows Wilfried sidesaddle, with Wilfried's thick, uncut meat hard and throbbing with each thrust Leon forces into his ass. This is one of Lucas Kazan's best, and his unique talent to bring classical and modern elements together seamlessly is a perfect fit for the theme. Boccaccio wrote many more tales -- here's hoping that Lucas Kazan takes us back to "The Decameron" very soon.
